Everyone was out and about or in a restaurant waiting for the New Year, including families, but the party didn't really get started until after the fireworks and midnight celebrations. Our hotel had decorated the place and put on a buffet, set-up a stage and all the tables around the pool, so we stayed for a while and then headed out. We ended up at a bar called Kopado's on the Ixtapa hotel zone. The bar is set up like a tree house with a cool winding staircase up. There was a live band playing and we had a great view of the fireworks at midnight.

Ixtapa has great nightlife, the best clubs were probably Senor Frog's or Carlos O'Brians if you're looking for people. Christine's or Millenium if you want the place to look good. And Bandillo's if you want to get a great orange flavored drink that'll get you HAMMERED.
There is also an afterhour called Liquid, which wasn't that amazing when we went but, if you aren't ready to go to bed yet, it's another place to go to.
Dress Code: We never got bothered with a dress code but remember to ask if there's a cover charge before going to the club. And boys and girls don't pay the same cover price so inform yourselves.
