Be careful...

Favorite Dish: If you go for one day to the Beach "La ropa" order yourselve in one of the beach restaurants a plate called "Piña rellena" . A pineapple cut in half filled with seafood and with cheese on the top grilled in the oven.
I can assure you that this is delicious, especially eating this enjoying the pacific ocean.

The most popular are Christine Club Ixtapa (nice ambience and music is a mixture of English and Latin) and Señor Frogs with a very live crowd and lots of fun assured (informal and for all ages). • Beaches are free

The beaches in Mexico are not "owned" by the hotels that might be built only a few hundred feet away. The Palapas and beach chairs that are in front of the hotel however ARE (probably) the property of the hotel. If the hotel is paying the government a "beach concession" they have the right to "rent" those items to people that want to use the beach,...

You have to try a tequila. Take a chupito or drink it in margerita. You have lots of tequilas but my husband Marcos who's Mexican so he will know, he recommends Centenario, La herradura.Tequila can cause some funny but also strange situations. A su salud.!!!!

In the hotelarea of Ixtapa you can do any kind of watersports and beach activities.Parasailing, jetski, banana ride.

  • Golfing at Palma Real

The fairways were very nice and they had crocodiles in a few of the water hazards. The sand was hard in a literal sense (need more sand), so not very nice when you had to play out of there. Some good views of the ocean. The price of a full round seemed reasonable. They have rentals and I would definitely recommend a cart because of the heat. I am...

    "La isla de Ixtapa"

by aventurera Written Dec 30, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Take the local transport (un micro) to Playa Linda Vista .
From here you can take a boat (30 pesos) to La isla known for its 4 beaches.
One of the beaches is great for snorkeling , one for swimming and there is even a beach wher you see no soul.
Check for time of last boat returning to mainland, service usually from 8:00 a.m. 'till 5:00 p.m. Boats operate as Playa Las Gatas (shuttle).

Fondest memory: The blue fishes, the ocean, the white sand, the dinners we had in the local cenaduras, the peace and quiet. th smaile of the people.

La isla . the shuttle to la isla La Isla de Ixtapa One of the beaches of La Isla Marcos and I in the boat (lancha) to La Isla
