Best time to go to Puerto Vallarta. Weather wise,
November-June is usually best time since it's the dry season.
July-October is the rainy season but still hot, where it normally rains
in the afternoon (2-3 hours) and mornings are nice.

Fondest memory:
Vallarta enjoys one of the most reliably temperate Winters in the world. There is virtually no rain from November to June. During these months, daytime temperatures hover between 80-85 degrees, and dip down at night to between 70-75 degrees.
The sky is bright and sunny every day, and the breezes are gentle. During the Summer months, the temperatures rise to between 85-90 during the day, and 80-85 during the night. Generally, the rainy season begins about mid-June and carries through to about October 15th. The hottest and most humid months are August, September and October.
Favorite thing:
Dec/Jan = VERY COOL...If you are not into warmth then go for it...can just tolerate sun w/o shirt by day so perfect for true sun worshipers as you can stay out for long periods of time w/o overheating...shade is not an option w/o shirt...at night absolutely need sweatshirt or heavy long sleeved shirt...have experienced lows of 58-59 degrees in Jan.
March = FAIR...sun by day is perfect...shade by day is just barely tolerable w/o shirt...at night need a light cover-up over a t-shirt such as a button down or light sweater.
May/June = PERFECT...sun by day is hot...shade by day is very comfortable...night with a t-shirt is perfectly cool but not cold...about best time of year.
Oct/Nov = Perfect...Mid/Late Oct to Mid/Late Nov is same as Early/Mid May to Early/Mid June......perfect.
Favorite thing:
According to our friend Manuel (See our Fish Logo travelogue), Puerto Vallarta was very negatively affected by 9/11, tourism really dropped. Then, last October, the Bay was rocked by a hurricane that did a lot of damage along the coast. Add to all that, the Iraq war this winter/spring, and tourism is down considerably.
I'm not certain the bridge footing in this photo was blown over by the hurricane, but most of the damage has been fixed.
Favorite thing: The boat pulled into the bay around 6 in the morning...the city was asleep, but you could see the sun coming up over the mountains...what a beautiful sight. Today was going to be a great day and the weather didn't disappoint us as the sun was out and there was a nice breeze blowing through the city.
Favorite thing: This may be my all time best tip...do not go to MExico in the summer months unless you are used to living in a sweat lodge.
Favorite thing: Try to be by the beach for the spectacular sunsets. Here is a picture of one sunset which I didn't modify in any way.
