Authentic small quaint restaurant on the South side of Basilio Badillo between Jacarandas and Aguacate. A no - name fish taco place where Jose makes the BEST tortillas from scratch. He is the sole person - waiter and cook and speaks English after working in Wyoming for a couple years. The tacos are the best I have tasted and cheap. He has a varied menu and will run next door for beer or sodas and bring them immediately back while you wait. He is trying to make it after a business deal fell through and does a great job. It is a busy street and noisy and he has a TV turned on but will turn if off if you request. The place is usually not crowded. It takes about 30 minutes to get your food. If you fish while there and catch anything, he'll cook it for you. He gets his fish fresh everyday from the fish market around the corner. Great guy, great restaurant! Give him business for lunch or dinner! For those on a tight budget, or those wanting authentic food, this is a great place to eat!!!
Favorite Dish: I loved the fish filet tacos and my friends loved the shrimp tacos. the tortillas are homemade; Jose showed us how he makes them and they are FRESH; made when you order.
On the night we arrived in Puerto Vallarta, we met some friendly Canadians lounging by the pool. After talking to them for a bit, they mentioned that there was a restaurant in town owned by another Canadian...The No Name Café...which serves great ribs and is also a sports bar. So oun Sunday night, we headed there for dinner. It's a place where you can watch sports with a view of the Malecón.
Favorite Dish: I of course had the 1/2 rack of BBQ Ribs with cole slaw and fries while LJ had the Beef Fajita with beans and dipping sauce.
I didn't go to Mexico to eat ribs, it just happened. No Name had the American football playoff games on and as it turned out some of the best ribs I've eaten. Southern end of Malecon, east side.
