The best snorkeling on the Costalegre coast along with very nice swimming beach and ocean side palapa restaurants

While there are plenty of places to eat and drink here - most all the 'nite-life' is in Barra de Navidad which is becoming a little more up-scale and touristy. Barra is the place to go for music.

The only warning is - there is much less of everything catering to northern clientele over the six months of summer

While we do our major shopping in Manzanillo ... there are still very good stores here for almost everything a traveler needs.

What to buy: Like beach towns anywhere - quality stuff that you would want to take home is rare and expensive. What is not expensive is food and drink from the local grocery stores. One of the better places in town that caters to non-Mexican tastes is 'Hawaii'. If you want Mexican - places abound. Local fishermans CO-OP's, central market and lots of corner stores. There is a weekly traveling market (tianguis) on Wednesdays that is interesting but often expensive.

What to pay: You are on your own
