Puebla lies 80 miles (130 km) southeast of Mexico City at an altitude of 7091 feet (2149 m).
Puebla is well connected by road with Mexico City. From Mexico City take toll road 150 to Puebla along Estado de México and Estado de Puebla.
By car, you should take the toll road, because it’s faster and safer. Arriving at Puebla City, take the exit that says “Boulevard Hermanos Serdán” and follow the signs saying downtown (centro). It took us about an hour and a half to reach Puebla from Mexico City.

Teotihuacan is located just 30 miles northeast of Mexico City along Estado de México.
Driving to San Juan Teotihuacán on the toll Highway 85D or the free Highway 132D takes about an hour. Head north on Insurgentes to leave the city.
Highway 132D passes through picturesque villages but can be slow due to the surfeit of trucks and buses.
Highway 85D, the toll road, is less attractive but faster.
