Chintamani is a retreat centre located just outside Cuernavaca in the Cuautla Valley, near Yautepec. It runs regular meditation, yoga, and other retreats which are open to all. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by hills and the place is crammed with wildlife; birds, butterflies, frogs, and even scorpions! If you are staying around Cuernavaca for...more

One of Mexico's most famous restaurants is here in Cuernavaca. The garden terraces are indeed glorious with pools and fountains. You can also stay here - but prices are very high starting at well over $100 a night. Dinner is not cheap either. The menu of the day was 410 pesos, though you can spend less - and eat less - with the ala carte menu....more

There's just too much good food to eat.
If you go downtown you'll find a biiiig supermarket called 'mercado nuevo' where you can eat delicious side dishes such as quesadillas, gorditas, pozole, tamales, pancita, etc....
Also, in Cuautlixco, near "la via" (the railroad rails) you can eat 'picaditas' with all kinds of dishes.
Just ask around and you will find awesome food.Related to:

If you go by bus from Mexico city catch in "Terminal de autobuses del sur Tasqueña" (bus station) the one going to Oaxtepec, from there you could take a taxi and in 5 minutes you will arrive to the Hotel Hacienda (public minibuses are also running from Oaxtepec to Cocoyoc but it is not worth to wait for them). If you decide to drive take the highway to Cuernavaca (south of Mexico city) then jump into the Oaxtepec exit, which is clearly pointed out in the highway.
It's an amazing Uruguayan restaurant ... with a great atmosphere. In the first floor, they have a bar with a lounge-looking area ... very nice. Then, if you go upstairs ... you'll see the 'parrilla' and the restaurant's floor, with plenty of Uruguayan decoration!
Favorite Dish: Starting with a flute of 'medio y medio' is a must (something like a Uruguyan sparkling wine), then you can delight yourself with some pasta or (my choice) roasted beef!!
If beef is your choice, you must get some Tannat (Uruguay's wine especiality)!! You'll love it!Related to:
