One of Mexico's most famous restaurants is here in Cuernavaca. The garden terraces are indeed glorious with pools and fountains. In downtown Tepoztlan there are also some shops with stuff from other countries like India, Egypth and some Asian ones. One of them and a personal favorite is the Taj Mahal shop which sells crystals, fossils, masks, wood carvings and Asian imports. There's just too much good food to eat.
If you go downtown you'll find a biiiig supermarket called 'mercado nuevo' where you can eat delicious side dishes such as quesadillas, gorditas, pozole, tamales, pancita, etc....
Also, in Cuautlixco, near "la via" (the railroad rails) you can eat 'picaditas' with all kinds of dishes.

If you go by bus from Mexico city catch in "Terminal de autobuses del sur Tasqueña" (bus station) the one going to Oaxtepec, from there you could take a taxi and in 5 minutes you will arrive to the Hotel Hacienda (public minibuses are also running from Oaxtepec to Cocoyoc but it is not worth to wait for them). If you decide to drive take the highway to Cuernavaca (south of Mexico city) then jump into the Oaxtepec exit, which is clearly pointed out in the highway.
