Los Ayala Restaurants

This restaurant was like my second home the two months I lived in Los Ayala, especially the three weeks my family came down. We went there nonstop and were constantly raving over the food. Lots of FRESH seafood- fish, shrimp, octopus... Most entres come with cooked vegetables that are just to die for! They also have a great drink menu- beer and mixed drinks, both alcoholic and not. They take precautions with their water so you don't need to worry about getting sick from the ice or fresh veggies. Great atmosphere. Small, never overcrowded. It's kind of for tourists- separate menus in Spanish and English- but has a very local feel. We became very good friends with our waiter Tony. Great guy. **One thing to remember everywhere you go is that people really appreciate someone who is friendly and makes an effort to learn the language/culture, and many times they'll show their appreciation in very generous ways. A good tip helps, too.

Favorite Dish: You gotta try the shrimp burger. I got so addicted to these! Fresh prawns in melted cheese on a bun, with lettuce and tomato if you want. It comes with fries, too. Only 45 pesos. Also don't miss out on their tequila- their own special blend.
