  • Get a Safe!

We had someone get in our house the first night that we were there. Very scary because we caught the guy as he was about to enter our infant son's bedroom. 2 minutes later would have been a different story. The robber escaped but he had already looted another house before us and it started our trip on a sour note. The police need to do more to get rid of the drug addicts - we will never go back and I would warn other families to think about safer options for kids vacations.

    Use the Safe

by jcbreck Written Apr 25, 2007

Although it's never happened to anyone on any of the groups I've traveled with, I have heard stories of folks having their bungalow/house broken into while they were at the beach. In my experience, most places have small in-room safes for securing your valuables. Use them!
