    Punta de Mita Restaurants

Before heading out to the bus stop, my daughter and I stopped by Brenda's Restaurant on our way. Thinking that we might get hungry for the bus ride. The restaurant looked like a bar at night. It has some tables outside where we opted to sit down. There are plants and trees shading where we sat. The weather in Punta De Mita was hot at the time we...

    Punta de Mita Restaurants

The owner of the boat that I rented hangs out here. The restaurant is this huge nipa hut with lots of dining tables fronting the ocean. It has excellent view!We did not eat here because we had chosen El Coral Restaurant, which, I thought has mediocre and expensive food! Looking at the menu of the restaurant, this could have been a better choice....

    Sayulita Transportation

Transportation to Sayulita includes bus, taxi or a ‘collectivo’ – usually a van that fits 6 or 7 people. I have travelled to Sayulita several times by myself and I always take the Compostela bus from the airport. But taxi’s are a good option too, especially if you have a large group and you can split the cost. When you head out of the PV airport...

I recently took my family to this restaurant. It was slow season, so as with all restaurants in the area, it was fairly empty. The waiter seated us, and placed the napkin on our lap (a small thing, but that was the first time that happened to me in Mexico). He right away got our kids drinks (Shirley Temples with extra cherries) which as a...

Tony taking requests on Christams Eve

by rlei Written May 3, 2007

This restaurant was like my second home the two months I lived in Los Ayala, especially the three weeks my family came down. We went there nonstop and were constantly raving over the food. Lots of FRESH seafood- fish, shrimp, octopus... Most entres come with cooked vegetables that are just to die for! They also have a great drink menu- beer and mixed drinks, both alcoholic and not. They take precautions with their water so you don't need to worry about getting sick from the ice or fresh veggies. Great atmosphere. Small, never overcrowded. It's kind of for tourists- separate menus in Spanish and English- but has a very local feel. We became very good friends with our waiter Tony. Great guy. **One thing to remember everywhere you go is that people really appreciate someone who is friendly and makes an effort to learn the language/culture, and many times they'll show their appreciation in very generous ways. A good tip helps, too.

Favorite Dish: You gotta try the shrimp burger. I got so addicted to these! Fresh prawns in melted cheese on a bun, with lettuce and tomato if you want. It comes with fries, too. Only 45 pesos. Also don't miss out on their tequila- their own special blend.

It is very beautiful and peaceful. You have to take a lancha to get there. The lanca costs 300 pesos round trip but you can fit about 15 people.
