Throughout the Barrio Antiguo (Old Quarter) most of the construction is of stone w/ mortar. It's interesting to see the way the use of expensive mortar was minimized. Everywhere there was a larger gap small pieces of stratified shale or limestone were stuck in to close the gap. It worked, because 250-300 years later and it is still standing!
Mexican Piñatas are used in birthdays. Every mexican child had broked with a stick a piñata made of paper or clay, inside the piñata there are a lot of candies ready to be picked up when it crashes, styles and color are in the mind of the creators as stars, donkeys, cars or cartoons caracters.
