    Las Monjitas: A Unique Experience!

This is a small chain of restaurants which, translated, literally means, The Little Nuns.
The facade of the building looks like an ornate Catholic church, and Son-of-a-gun, there's 'nuns' in the kitchen and 'nuns' waiting tables, but it's only for the atmosphere. Reasonably priced and good food.

Favorite Dish: They serve many mixture plates, like bacon, diced pork, and spices with melted cheese over rice. They all have Catholic-related names, like The Three Missionaries, Pope Paul, The Devil (extra spicy!), etc.

Las Monjitas: You Might Make It A Habit to Come Here

    by Daniel_Williams Written Mar 28, 2005

Las Monjitas in the Zona Rosa was quite good. Nuns (or women in nun outfits?) served dishes, which created a unique ambience to my eyes. My friend ordered the queso fundado and some nachos, and they were delicious. One thing I'll say is that all the tortillas, hard or soft, were of incredibly high quality and tasty everywhere. I went, this place being no exception. Coffee was excellent.
