In the middle of Monterrey's modern day concrete jungle, the Obispado is to be found perched on a hill overlooking the city. Being the former episcopal residence, it is now transformed into a museum commemorating important historical events and personalities. It is an example of brilliant colonial architecture. One can also walk (or drive) up the hill behind the actual edifice towards the location of the gigantic flag of Mexico (50 by 28,6 meter). Like a protecting mother it flies over a number of normal sized flags of different regiments from Mexico's history. A merry-go-round can also be found in it's shade, much to the dislike of many locals who view its presence as an insult to the flag and what it stands for.

Obispado is up in the hills of Monterrey overlooking part of the city. It is a museum that has historical artifacts including swords, guns, cannon balls, military uniforms, and paintings of Mexican generals. It also portrays religious artwork in the front foyer. I believe that this was the a fort that the Bishop of Mexico was housed in during the Mexican Revolution.

Another view of the Bishop, take a tour inside the museum, entrance 3 USD, this hill have a lot of history, some people belive there are many tunnels from here to downtown, American flag was raised here during war against USA.

To the west of the city you could find the Palace of the Obispado, that has become a Regional Museum of History of the state of Nuevo León.

The municipality of Garza García, in the metropolitan zone of Monterrey, stand out for its modern commercial centers, restaurants, night clubs and beautiful residences. It is important try to occur a time to visit the hill of Chipinque, here so you could enjoy a beautiful view of the city of Monterrey.

Other important places to visit during a stay in this beautiful city are: the Center Cultural Alpha, that contains to the Museum of Science and Technology, a Planetarium and the Pavilion of the Universe, also of importance is the Museum of the Contemporary Art.

Go up the hill to the 'Obispado' and have a beautifaul view over Monterrey!
It´s the former palace of the bishop of Monterrey, now a state museum displaying artefacts from the colonial era. I didn´t visit it, so I can´t tell you if the museum is worth it. But let me tell you that the view over the city is amazing! I was there at night time to see the city lights. You can take the bus, but then you´ll have to walk a bit I think.

There is a recently remodeled museum and great views of the city from the top of this large hill. There are benches to sit and enjoy the view. This is a spot where couples often go.
