PEOPLE-WATCHING IN THE CENTRAL SQUARE
As in most Mexican towns of any size, the central square is the meeting place, near the shops and always a wide choice of bars, restaurants to stop for a coffee, drink, snack or full meal.. Oaxaca is one of the best, with plenty of benches also available if you aren't wanting to eat and drink.People-watching at its best, and often with roving mariachis or other musicians; children flying small kites, and there is a lovely Gazebo, which many evenings has music and the older crowd DANCES!
