La Estrella Roja provides direct bus service from the Mexico City International Airport to Puebla's Poniente bus station. It runs almost every hour (often every half hour, too), is clean, comfortable, well-maintained, airconditioned and worth every penny of your bus ticket. The round trip between MEX and Puebla costs only $28 USD (one-way is about $15 USD.) You need not schedule your return trip until the day of if you aren't quite sure what time/date you want to return. From MEX, after you exit from customs, proceed to the second level. Look for the food court and just ask anyone where the bus services are. Look for the "Puebla" counter. It is VERY convenient, and MUCH cheaper than trying to book a connecting flight from MEX to Puebla. The seats are comfortable with high backs and recline, and a footrest is provided. They give you your choice of beverage (soda, juice or water) along with several cookies and snack nuts in a bag. They even provide you with headsets and play a video or TV news. The one-way trip is 2 hours. For us, it was perfect, as we took a red-eye from LAX to MEX, arrived at MEX around 5:45am and were able to catch a 6:30am bus which got us to Puebla by 8:30am. That gave us a chance to sleep on the bus, and arrive feeling rested with the entire day left to explore the city. HIGHLY recommend this mode of transport to Puebla from MEX. Generally I'd say, there is no big need to bring your car to Puebla, as all the main sights can easily be reached by public transportation. Should you be in need for public parking, look for big black 'E's encirceled in red. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

There are several bus from Mexico City to Puebla and vice-versa. There are night buses to Oaxaca and other cities further afield as well. All the off-the-beaten path destinations I mentioned can be reached by local buses or colectivos. If need be, ask your hotel for directions. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus
