Visiting Puebla without seeing the Great Pyramid of Cholula? Only not me!Unfortunately an excursion to Cholula wasn’t included in our tour. I knew it from the very beginning but hoped to convince our guide and other tourists to go to Cholula after visiting Puebla to see the largest pyramid in the World. But I failed, the guide told we wouldn't have...

    Taxco Things to Do

There are many churches in Taxco, but the main chuch in the Zocalo is well worth a visit. It has been under repair for the last couple years. The outside of the church is getting a facelift. However the interior of the church is spectacular.

    Taxco Things to Do

When in Taxco the main thing to do is shop for silver. Bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings, virtually anything you can think of can be found in silver form in Taxco. Somethings to rememer is that the price is often negotiable and always make sure the piece is stamped with a .925 which insures it actaully has silver content.

If possible, try to work you stay where you are in town on the weekend. Many street vendors selling all kinds of food. Every kind of dried chili pepper you can imagine. Try the corn rolled in mayo and covered in paprika.

Hike to the top of a Volcano!

by blueskyjohn Written May 18, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Hiking to the top of La Malinche is not technically difficult. However a considerable amount of time is needed to do the round trip hike. The trail is easy to find. I recommend staying at the hotel at the base. Campsites are also available.

We reached the summit just at sunset for amazing views. If you plan this be sure to bring headlamps. The hike out would be mostly in the dark when you hit the forest.

Saw this as I looked over at my friend. Popocatepetl off in the distance

Cuetzalán del Progreso Warnings and Dangers

After a wonderfull breakfast of yoghurt and some "frutas" I had never seen before along with pan deluc y cafe we drove 150 kilometres through some of the most tortured road and beautifull sub-tropical jungle I had yet to witness. I have traveled Hawaii extensivly and I live in California, so I am used to torturous, winding roads, Right? Wrong! The...

    Cuetzalán del Progreso Restaurants

The delicious smells from the open air food vendors were overwhelming. Central Mexico's food is diverse and varried owing its roots to the local indigeneous cultures as well as to French, Arab and Spanish influences. ( In Puebla my favorite foods are Taco's arabes, Chiles en nogada and of course Mole.) To try and explain the flavors and aromas of...

    Acapulco Things to Do

I ended up going to a beachclub resort, having cocktails and talking to Gringos who thought I was a native whereby they made rude comments to me. Men, get a grip! Anyway, the beach at the resort was much nicer, cleaner and there was a masseuse onboard.
