The wine and cheese festival is held at the end of May/beginning of June, and there's obviously lots of wine and cheese. There's also lots of local culture, dancing, and unexpected fun things--outdoor concerts, for example. It DID cost a whole 15 pesos to get in--but then there was all that wine, cheese, beautiful parkland, and Benny Ibarra!
Enjoy Tequis Fair in late May and early June. Cheese, wine, concerts, rodeo, open-air theatre and bullfights.
Any other date throughout the year is also good, as Tequis has wineries to visit.
