    Querétaro Restaurants

What can I say the food is excellent, but the best part of this Restaurant is the ambience and the decor? The Restaurant's decor ranges from a variety of classical statues to Egyptian sphinxes.Words can't explain it…

They are a subsidiary of Flecha Amarilla. Luxury bus with reclining seats, footrests, lunch included, American feature films dubbed in Spanish. They leave frequently, about every 30 min. Cost is 220 Pesos (equivalent to about $20) one way. Takes 3 and a half hours. Queretaro's bus terminal is outside the city. You need to buy a ticket for the taxi...

  • Zocalo.

    Bernal Things to Do

As other Mexican towns, Bernal has it´s Zocalo (central park) with it´s church, and other colonial buildings surrounding it. I found Bernal´s park specially charming, maybe because of the wonderful views of the impossing Bernal´s boulder or maybe because here you can feel the authentic Mexican town life.

    Bernal Restaurants

A great restaurant, maybe the best in town, good food and service, and the most important thing they close late. Bernal is mostly a daily tour town so almost all the restaurants close very early (for Mexican standarts) around 8.30. Good Mexican fusion food.

There is a small mask museum in Bernal that is worth a look. I don't think it charged admission. (I can't remember.)

  • La Feria del queso y el vino...mmm.

    Tequisquiapan Things to Do

The wine and cheese festival is held at the end of May/beginning of June, and there's obviously lots of wine and cheese. There's also lots of local culture, dancing, and unexpected fun things--outdoor concerts, for example. It DID cost a whole 15 pesos to get in--but then there was all that wine, cheese, beautiful parkland, and Benny Ibarra!

  • The Cheese and Wine Fair

    Tequisquiapan Things to Do

Enjoy Tequis Fair in late May and early June. Cheese, wine, concerts, rodeo, open-air theatre and bullfights. Any other date throughout the year is also good, as Tequis has wineries to visit.

'Ranas' archaeological site is in San Joaquin, 2 hours northeast from Querétaro, at the Sierra Gorda ('Gross Range'). There is a pyramid atop a hill and other 900-year-old buildings. Don't expect a big place like Teotihuacan, it is rather about 4 hectares in size. Entrance fee: 2.50 dollars, free on holidays. There are other prehispanic buildings here and there in nearby mountains. Those are more difficult to reach as they are hidden in the forest or there are no roads.

In this picture you can see only a third of the pyramid.
