Las Mananitas in Playa del Carmen
Small cosy restaurant right in the middle of Avenida 5. Very nice music and excellent service. Italian as well as Mexican fare.

Favorite Dish: Mixed grill for two, including lobster. And half a garaffe of house white wine.

Argentinian Steak houses are in my opinion some of the best around. They slow cook the meat over a bed of charcol which gives it a unique taste and Argentinian beef is some of the best in the world.

    Favorite Dish: Top Sirloin Steak

Try a barbecue on the beach. Dinners like these are usually offered by the big hotels. Most of the Mexican food you will find are not the authentic kind. The food is very touristy and disappointing. You are better off going into town and eating at the market.

In Cancun, if you can get off the beaten path (away from McDonald's!) find any local restaurant, you'll be very pleased.
In Cozumel, there is a small Italian place called Guido's. I know it's wierd to go to Mexico and have Italian food, but it is exceptional.
Guido's has a wonderful outside patio with little turtles crawling around hoping for a hand out.

These are little tacos with meat shaved off of a rotisserie that sits vertically. They put some greens on it and it's WONDERFUL. We've been trying to duplicate them and been unable, but can only guess that the red barbecue sauce has pineapple in it.

    Favorite Dish: Tacos al Pastor

Okey my favorite rrestaurant is Mr. Frogs...i love that place, you can eat anything you want, sea food (which is absolutly delicious), meat, pork of chicken plus the beverages that are some of my favorites in town!
Okey this restaurant is the best. You can eat, you have fun with their Kareokee and contests, they have a slippery tuel that will throw you to the lagoon that is on the back of the restaurant if they dont like your performance, free shots and FUN FUN FUN!!!

Favorite Dish: MUU,OINK,PIU......selected pices of meat, pork and chicken with BBQ sauce and vegetables!

And please drink one of the Yards they sell there!

I would suggest the all inclusive where ever you stay. After a full day exploring you don't want to look for a place to eat. Eat lunch out if your not nearbye.
