My restaurant tip is based on the restaurants in the Moon Palace resort.
The Spanish Restaurant in the Nizuc part of the hotel was the best. The photo is of the Paella that I lapped up!
The staff in this restaurant were great, the atmosphere perfect and the food outstanding.
Food and service fantastic, located right next to the lobby bar-so it was really handy for a drink afterwards.
During breakfast and lunch this restaurant is self service, but changes to A La Carte in the evening.
Mo Mo No Hana (Oriental)
This is the only No smoking restaurant in the hotel. The Teriyaki was superb and the staff helpful enough, they do have a strict dress code though so be warned!
Italian- the name escapes me, but it is a really big canteen style place, again self service for brekkie and lunch and waiter in the evening. The food was good, but I have had better.
There were 2 restaurants located either side of the pool area, I did not rate them much, as there were birds flying in and out, flies everywhere, and the food was bad, you only got dirty looks from the staff!
Favorite Dish: Paella of course!!!!
Salvatore's is usually outside by the swimming pool. The pool is lit up and flowers with candles float in the pool. You can also see the beach and the waves while your eating. First class service also.
Favorite Dish: Garlic shrimp with pasta. Melts in your mouth.
We had been given a free all-day session at the Sun Palace Resort so we took full advantage of its all-inclusive breakfast! This is a very high quality resort with the surroundings to match. The food and service was excellent.
Due to the age of the children we only ate at the restaurants of the Moon Palace and Sunrise. The best restaurant, for dinner, of the 10 available was the Oriental restaurant at the Sunrise. The service there was qood - even better if you tip. The steaks available at the outdoor restaurants were OK, but the food can get cold quite quickly.
