    Swim into the night

    Cancun - Mexico

Night falls quickly in the tropics, and with the hotel so close to the beach, it was common to extend the pleasure of a late swim into the dark of the night, with the lights of the pools and the hotel allowing us to stay.

And how good they were, those baths, with the beach only for us.

Cancun shares with Luanda the top of my preferences concerning beaches - warm water, strong but safe surf... a water paradise

Can Cun is most famous for its transparent waters, its soft sandy beaches, the warmth of its waters. Even if the hotel zone and its beaches are man made, they are truly spectacular... when there isn't a hurracaine passing by.

    Enjoy the pool

The pool of Kristal hotel is good but with two special things: the shadow of the pillars, that I often used to read a book in the water, and its construction by the sea, giving from most of its places the sensation of continuity with the sea.

A funny detail, giving a pleasant sensation of space and freedom.

best beach in cancun area: blue and calm

by siver Written Apr 14, 2007

personally i like beaches with calm water, no waves. the beaches on top of the '7' around intercontinental, are the best ones, because of lady island blocks waves. they are a bit hard to get to since most of them seperateed by privated properties and hotels.

The more boats and jet skis on the water the higher the waves get. Generally the waters here are still calmer than on the other side of Mexico. Don't be surprised if you see your self swimming amongst other fish.

    Snorkeling and booze don't mix!

by CowNow Updated Nov 10, 2004

Many places offer catamaran snorkeling trips... usually with free drinks. A word of caution there: Drink on the way back!

The underwater colors were so beautiful! Tropical fish are accustomed to visitors, and will swim right up to you. I was glad that the shark, although a small one, stayed on the bottom!

Catch a Sunrise by the Beach

by jilldj Updated Feb 5, 2005

everyone knows how gorgeous the beaches of cancun are. but watching a sunrise by the beach will make you appreciate it all the more.

i was fortunate (and not lazy) enough to get up early in the morning to watch the sunrise and it was definitely worth it.

many great places to wonder, people are all super wasted and just wanted to have a great time. Great place to find company for the rest of the night. Oasis has lots of free things going on and thats where the party is durring the day.

The best time I had in Cancun was hanging out on the beaches. I love the ocean, sand and great weather, so Cancun's white beaches were awesome. This is where i spent most of my days.

    view from our room

Beaches by day...bars by night...that pretty much summarizes Cancun. Shopping is limited to crappy, loud, obnoxious souveniers probably made in China.

Off the beach from the Costa Real Hotel and Suites is an area that you can rent jet ski's, paddle boats, or go sailing.
