Luggage and bags: take small backpack if you are planning to climb the ruins. Hand held bags will be hard to hold if you need your both hends and legs to climb.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Wear pants (short or long).
Wear hiking shoes or sport shoes. If you have only flip-flops, it is better to climb bare foot.
Don't forget, every scrape or bruise will hurt like hell the next day you will take a plunge in the Ocean.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take sun lotion to put on your face and your arms.
TAKE MOSQUITO REPELANT. IT is a JUNGLE.
IT is full of bugs. They are especially active after 3 pm and they love your sweaty skin.

Photo Equipment: Don't forget your camera.

Miscellaneous: Take a bottle of water with you. If you decide to walk or climb the ruins I recomand at least one bottle per head.

Luggage and bags: If you wanna do the Maya's a favor you have to bring them things they need like soap, paper, pens, pencils and things like that.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: If you are in an all-inclusive hotel, make sure you get the soap, shampoo and things from there... save them a couple of days and bring it with you when you go to the Maya's.
