Cable Pulley Dangling at Garrafon Park

by RoseAmano Updated May 1, 2003

    More scary than it looks!
From atop a hill at Garrafon Park, strap yourself in and hang on to the cable pulley whilst you slide down over the sea.

Equipment: Don't wear sandal which you might kick off and lose in the water!!

    Tropical fish

First time snorklers take a local boat ride.
I had never snorkled before and they helped me out.
    It was so fun.
When we got to the spot they put crackers in the water and the fish just went crazy.
I am glad I did not chicken out like Mike.
Before you get on one of these boats make sure they have safety equipment.

Equipment: You can bring your own snorkel gear but mine was cheap and kept breaking.
The owners of the boat had their own.

    Cancun in the distance

You will probably end up staying at the north end of the island, I recommend renting a bicycle for the day and riding all the way to the south end of the island, about 7kms each way. Here you will find a much more rugged coastline and even a view of Cancun in the distance.

Isla Mujeres - Best Dive Operation

    by MichelleW22 Written Jul 6, 2012

Spent a wonderful 10 days scuba diving with Buzos de Mexico. Best boats on the island and the nicest crews. They also arranged a fantastic snorkeling trip to swim with whale sharks (in season May-September) and a special day of cave (cenote) diving in Tulum. Special thanks Ivan, Carlos and Danny (best dive masters and guides around) and Cati (coordinator extraordinaire) for the best dive experience to be had on the Isla.

Equipment: Scuba gear (optional, business rents all): BCD, computer, wetsuit, mask/fins

    Snorkelling at South Point

    South Point Beach, Isla Mujeres

The best snorkelling on Isla Mujeres was at South Point beach. Make this a stop on your tour of the south end of the island.
