Kitesurfing... after having admired it on TV I finally managed to see it live - and what a great sport it seems to be... fast and at times furious. I like the idwa of riding waves like this.
There's quite some people practising it in Puerto Morelos, especially in the far end of the beach.
Equipment: I believe you have to take your own equipment

The sea in Puerto Morelos is perfect for swimming... the water is turquoise and calm, and there are no nasty aquascooters to annoy you and run over you - after all the area is considered a marine park.
The reef is only 50 metres away from the shore, making it perfect for snorkeling. It's very easy to find someone wo will take you there with his boat. I believe that it's possible to rent snorkeling equipment, but it's always a better idea to bring your own.
Equipment: swimsuit and towel, sunscreen and a hat.
bring also snorkeling equipment, just in case

The large coral reef is but a short way out from the shore.
There are boats available for snorkeling trips out to the reef all up and down the beach.
