  • Great scooter rental in Cozumel

If you have decided to rent a scooter to go around the island, I'd recommend Ernesto's Rental ( www.ernestosrental.com ) they give u the best rates in cozumel. They also include insurance with the rentals. It's locally operated so u can always talk to the owner in case u didnt like something (not that u will, i had the most amazing experience) And they will even give u free snorkel equipment if available!

    Do not settle on prices...negotiate!

Everything is negotiable.. do not just jump into a cab..stop and ask how much...from San MIguel to our hotel we paid 5 bucks others up to 15.We stayed at the Cozumeleno which was one of the farthest hotels out. from the hotel to chankannab it was 12. I would also reccomend in renting a jeep for a day and driving around the island.
Crafts and sovenirs are the same too. finagle a good price..they look forward to it!

  • Rent a Scooter

    My cousins on a scooter

A scooter is a great way to see San Miguel and get around Cozumel. The roads are safe for the most part, as the majority of traffic is on Avenida Rafael Melgar. The price to rent 1 scooter should range from $20-$30 around the island.

I rented from a guy named Israel at Rentadora Hanatol across the street from the International Pier. We talked him down to $20 each since we were renting 2 scooters. Walk directly across the street from the entrance to the pier and his business is on the far left side, next to a woman braiding hair.

    Some general safety rules:
Stay to the right of the road and let cars pass, don't speed, and always wear a helmet.

  • Taxi From Cruise Ships

Cruise ships dock at the International Pier, which is about 3 miles from San Miguel. A taxi into town shouldn't cost more than $6 per person and the ride is only a few minutes long. Taxis line up outside the entrance to the pier.
