The Miracle Room of the San Francisco Church
Without much knowledge of what the deal was with "San Pancho" (the nickname of San Francis of Assisi) & Real de Catorce, we entered the church & followed a few folks to the back "miracle room" covered with stories of how St. Francis had helped this or that family. It is similar to the miracle room at the San Juan Del Valle Shrine that I visit near McAllen, Texas but this one is painting after painting depicting the "miracle" for that person. There are a few letters, licenses, hair cuttings, etc., but most are home art creations from today to a few in the 70's & 60's. It was an unexpected surprise but then again... anytime there are massive amounts of candle sellers, I should have an idea of what to expect.
