three different towns
Favorite thing: the top of the Freeman hotel for sunset, or anytime, the best view of old town and the beach, not to be missed...this ties with buying shrimp by the kilo from the shrimp ladies and going to Dunia's while the Banda plays and they fix your meal at $3 a kilo. for the cheap tour of all Mazatlan you need a bus then a cab or travel truck. Old town is where the tourist industry started, then the Golden Zone, where the time/share.cruise ships take you, then new Mazatlan where you need an invitation to visit. you can see them all from a bus! You can do all of these in the time your ship is here or in a two day split
Fondest memory: the variety of seafood at low cost, the only downside is the lobster, not cold water taste!. At the cantinas the gringos often over look, the botana is FREE LUNCH, food with your beer! Can not be afraid to venture in the DAY time off the beaten path...as everywhere night can be a little risky.Related to:

Timeshare sales, pain in the neck
Favorite thing: No. There is a local tour company that will provide round trip service, airport to hotel for $28.00 U.S... King David Tours at, http://www.kingdavid.com.mx/
I highly recommend them.
Beware of timeshare sales people they are everywhere. Sometimes 4 in one block, takes the enjoyment out of walking around the streets shopping. Even in the stores they accosted us, in the restaurants they interrupted our meal to sell us a timeshare. They spoiled my trip.
Favorite thing: Diane, High season is from November until April, low is the rest of the year, the snowbirds leave in April but May is still nice and June is not bad either, the worst months here are August and September, and maybe 2 weeks into October, then it gets nice again. Anytime is pretty good to come and investigate but but my favorite times here are May and June.
Fondest memory: Okay they aren't lizzards, but they are certainly BIG! These creatures are agressive when it comes to burgers! They like to lounge around in the shade and they are not shy. Keep your burgers close and eat them fast, they like the smell of fresh meat!
