Senor Frogs
This is a restaurant that’s so popular and successful, that it developed into a national chain throughout Mexico, with additions in California, Florida, Spain and Brazil. Each is a little different (including the name), but they all have a party emphasis, featuring fun, good food and good service. However, Mazatlan’s Senor Frogs is the original, in many ways the best, and really shouldn’t be missed. Every night is a party!
I looked at a list of restaurants on the Mazatlan website and I know that this restaurant is still a favorite place to eat and have fun. Senor Frogs is a popular restaurant with the tourists as well as the locals, and you will see Senor Frogs stores selling Senor Frogs souvenir t-shirts and other wear. This restaurant has a good international menu and a party atmosphere, which is just plain fun. The waiters are a little crazy, and there might be a Congo line dancing between the tables. In fact, after you eat, you might want to stay and enjoy dancing. Some folks come here just for the drinking and dancing. Warning, the music is played VERY loud. When we were there it was even hard to talk to the person across the table from you. So if you want a nice quiet atmosphere, do not go here. If you want to go, and loud music hurts your ears, pack along a pair of earplugs to dampen the noise and have fun. Hey, late at night, you might even find people dancing on the tables, or writing their names on the ceiling.
Favorite Dish:
Some people who had been spending Christmas in Mazatlan for years, told us to order the barbecued pork ribs. We did, and they were outstanding!!! Hopefully they are just as good as they were then. I also enjoyed the lime pie for desert.
Cheezy, loud, touristy. Still a fun place to go for some pretty good shrimp tacos and a few cervesas or margaritas. Plus its one of the few places in the world where you can see a bunch of inebriated people wearing foam frog hats.
Favorite Dish:
Shrimp, lobster, whatever...
The fact that it is so formal yet so laid back. And that the restaurant is near the bar so you can go in, inbetween eating. The price may be a bit high sometimes but it is definitly worth the money. You can get brithday cakes with candles from the waiters.
Favorite Dish:
Chicken any kinda chicken. Bread sticks. The chicken was so good, and so juicy I wanted to get more. The bread sticks were so crunchy and had just the right amount of salt!
