Stores and Markets, Mazatlán
Pacific Jewelry sits right in the middle of the Zona Dorado (Golden Zone) of Mazatlan. Upscale jewelry from rings to bracelets. Featuring many varieties of precious and semi-precious stones, Pacific Jewelry is a wonderful place to shop for that special gift or purchase for a loved one. Maybe, even a little "bling-bling" for yourself. They are able to size rings and customize pieces of jewelry while you wait over a complimentary drink of Tequila or two, depending on how long it takes to have your piece of jewelry ready to take out or wear.
Lalo Jimenez is the Sales Manager. Ask for him to get the lowest price. It seems that in Mazatlan, as well as elsewhere in Mexico, it is the custom even in the finer stores to ask for "their best price". It does not mean the quality is less, just the price. Pacific Jewelry has locations in MAZATLAN, KEY WEST, CANCUN, COZUMEL, MIAMI, HONG KONG, PUERTO VALLARTA, SHANGHAI, BANGKOK, CABO SAN LUCAS, and NEW YORK. Worth the stop, if you are looking for quality jewelry.
What to buy: All types of jewelry.
What to pay: Only what you can afford, but it can be very expensive, if looking for a diamond piece.
The old market in Centro is full of deals. It is what makes Mazatlan so unique. I like the unique items and cheap prices. The other thing is the local people you can meet there I like the atmosphere in Centro it seems so different from the Golden Zone. Everyone is speaking Spanish and going about their daily business. They sell everything clothes, food, meat, coffee just about anything. Some of the vendors are pushy but they need to make a living. You get the feeling the central market has not changed for years. Love it!!
What to buy: Clothes, souveniers are all found here.
What to pay: Expect to barter a little.....But the prices are cheap
La Gran Plaza is the mall in Mazatlan. If you need ANYTHING, come here. It has everything from shoes and clothes to groceries and mopeds. It is a huge center and you can purchase anything imaginable here.
What to buy: Jewelry
What to pay: As much as you want to.
