THE BEAUTY LIES NOT ONLY IN THE SEA

    MALECON BEAUTY

When in Mazatlan, most tourists will head for the Malecon. Why not? This is the area with all the great restaurants, hotels, beaches, and shopping. The beach seems to run forever along the Malecon. Placed every so often is a beautiful statue or monument , as if the ocean itself was not beautiful enough.

The best shopping is done in this area as well, with jewelry, silver, and mexican articles for sale on every block in the nearby Golden Zone (Zona Dorado). There is a malecon (seawall) right at Pancho's Restaurant which is in the heart of the Golden Zone. Actually, there is 10 miles of this promenade called the malecon, linking seven beaches.

    Malecon

The glory of 'Old Mazatlan' is its historic boulevard along the sea wall (Malecon). Here the Malecon includes the Boulevards (Paseos) Claussen, Olas Altas and Del Centenario. These prominent hills border the Malecon and overlook the old harbor, allowing for wonderful views of the city and surrounding countryside. Some of Mazatlan's oldest homes are located here.

It is easy to get around in Mazatlan. You can easily get a "pulmonia" this is a golf car that takes you around the city. You can also stop the taxi trucks. You and your friends or family jump into the back and the driver will take you to your location as you enjoy open air transporation while listening to the latest hit song blasting from the big speaker the trucks carry in the back!!
