Everywhere I go, I see great holes in the sidewalks. Actually, these are cut out for a purpose, I think it's to allow for water evacuation. I see this mostly in the State of Veracruz, which is not lush and tropical for nothing. It rains a lot here. And the rivers and lagunas often overflow. And then the Gulf can hit the town badly too, especially during a Hurricane.
Anyway, while walking from the bus stop along a long street in the country-side to reach the El Tajín Complex, I noticed that the sidewalk was broken open every 20 feet or so. That was the first time I realised the holes were done on purpose! It's not the Vandals, it's the City officials!
