Just outside the hotel there is Hacienda Doña Isabel, a nice complex of souvenir shops, services, restaurant, bars, and disco.
The hotel itself provides some animation in the bar at night, but it is better to go to Hacienda Doña Isabel, several bars where to choose from, with open air tables. And then there's the disco to dance after going to the bar. Some nights there are thematical nights at the disco.

This is a great place to go late at night for a snack, a delicious capuccino (or tea or chai) and some conversation. Its located right on Paseo de Montejo, a block north of the Archaeological Museum. Its in an old colonial house, and you can sit upstairs on the veranda, overlooking the Paseo, the horse and buggies, and the other tourists strolling by down below. Very lovely on a tropical night.
