Cabs in zacatecas are appointed as the more expensive ones in Mexico comparing distance ans fares..They are not metered, so work out 35 or 40 pesos one ride wherever you go to zacatecas. If you prefer taking a bus, rarely will you know where they are bound for since there is no information about routes and so on .After 10 times going to zacatecas I have never managed to know about them.

If you want to go to Zacatecas, get a bus at nothern central bus station in Mexico City.It comes to mind, the so-called "executive" Futura coach at 11Pm . It'll take you 8 hours to get to Zacatecas . Avoid taking ETN coaches, They proud about their latest modern coaches but they are overly demanding concerning allowance weight baggage. If you surpass your weight you'll pay .On top of that prices are hhiger than average.

You'll pass above Zacateca's downtown... the cathedral, the museums, and so on... don't expect a long travel... i'm not sure but maybe it takes one or two minutes, to pass from Cerro de la Bufa and Cerro El Grillo.... It'll take you much more in line than the travel itself... but it's nice.... and if you want to return, you have to make the line again... :( i think it was like 30 pesos, one way...

Though Zacatecas is a walker's paradise you may eventually get fatigued, especially when walking up the many hills. We found the simplest way to get around was via taxi. They don't have meters so be sure to get a firm quote to your destination before you get in.
