by Lyn_2 This photo is of a popular dive site south of PUERTO VALLARTA. Mexico has lots of good diving in the Baja, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Puerto Escondido. Bring your own equiptment or rent from a dive shop. Leave a Comment

by Lyn_2 Take a water taxi ride or a party boat to places likeYELAPA. We followed a path through the jungle and up the mountain to this idyllic waterfall. Along the way, our young guide pointed out a huge nest of black widow spiders hanging from a branch directly overhead and a snake with a mouse in it's mouth crossing the path. We looked over a wooden bridge to see children playing in the river below while their mothers were washing the clothes further down the river. The jungle was littered with beautiful flowers and the butterflies had migrated to the area also. Some people cheated and came up the mountain on horseback (wish I had thought of that!). by Lyn_2 VALLADOLID....This is a cenote called 'Cenote Dzitnup' or by it's Mayan name..'Cenote X'keken'. It is located 2km, outside Valladolid. It is a heavenly experience to swim in Dzitnup on a hot day in the Yucatan. You climb down some stairs that go underground, strip down to your bathing suit and jump in. Locals as well as the more adventurous travelers like it's cool deep waters. There is a very small charge. You can rent a bike in Valladolid and ride out to the cenote or take a combi or taxi. Mexico has many cenotes throughout the Yucatan and some are good for diving and caving too. Be sure to click on this picture to enlarge it. It's awsome! Not mine! Borrowed from a postcard! by Lyn_2 By all means...don't miss the many archeological sites in Mexico. Get out of your hotel, off the beach, and be adventurous! This is a picture of one of the ruins at EDZNA outside Merida. Most hotels offer tours of these sites, or better yet, you can reach most of them by bus (less money and more independent). Here are a few of the Mayan and Toltec and Aztec ruins that are opened to the public (there are many more) : Tulum, Palenque, Coba, Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza, El Tajin, Monte Alban, and Yaxchilan. You will not be disappointed! Leave a Comment

by mlafren I like to ride the local buses. That day, we went by bus to Boca de Tomatlan which is South of Puerto Vallarta and we took a water taxi to the small community of Yelapa. Leave a Comment

by gkitzmil Coyoacan -- quaint 'suburbs' of Mexico City ....visit Plaza Hidalgo in Coyoacan. Stop at the Sanborns chain there for a meal or a cool drink. Stroll through the gardens. Then go visit the home of Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was the crippled wife of Diego Rivera -- Mexico's famous muralist. Kahlo, part German, collected pre-Columbian art which is on display.
