I don't think there's a specific type of bag to bring, just as long as it's light! I thought it would be all bathing suits and tank tops (which are definately needed), but pack some longsleeved shirts and pants, it does get cool at night. After a day of +30, +15 can feel VERY cold at night! Also, at least one pair of shoes that are not sandals is a good choice. Just your regular toiletries, there are drugstores around, but they are all more expensive so be prepared. There are photo developing places around that probably sell everything you might need, but they are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than in North America, even just for one roll of fim ($9 U.S!), so BRING EXTRAS!! (I found out the hard way!)

Nothing with a lock...it only draws the attention of thieves, keep all jewelry and expensive items with you at all times. Even your hotel is not safe and mexican laws are much different then those in America Good walking shoes and probably not sandles as there are mexican 'zebras' donkeys painted with striped all over the roads for tourist pictures! Toilet paper can be a must if you get off the beaten path. Most prescription drugs can be bought anywhere for minimal cost but should not be attempted to be brought back to the US Wear pants with alot of pockets. Keep small bills and mexican money in one, and the rest in the other. When you are bargaining you can say 'this is all I have' and generally you will get your item for whatever is in your hand!

Immodium, because you just never know. Also pack an anti-nauseant. I needed one after I got food poisoning the day we left Puerto Vallarta. That was the worst flight of my life, I was horribly ill the whole way home. Bring an underwater camera for great pics while scuba diving and snorkelling. Bring your wetsuit and scuba gear!

take one of those bags that ajusts to differen sizes, I got one and it was great! I could fit all my new stuff into it! I allways leave Mexico with more stuff than I arrive with. Light clothing, maybe one jacket, just in case. SANDLES ARE A MUST!!!! TAKE SOME BUG REPELLANT!!!! AND MAKE SURE YOU TAKE SOME ANTI-ITCH CREAM BECUASE WHEN I WAS IN MEXICO I COULD'NT FIND ANY ANTI-ITCH CREAMS, I LOOKED IN ALL THE PHARMACIES. iT'S ALOT CHEAPER TO BUT FILM HERE IN THE USA THAN IN MEXICO, SO STOCK UP!!! I SUGGEST BUYING ONE OF THOSE MULTIPACKS. YOU CAN GET ABOUT 4 OR 5 ROLLS OF 35MM FOR AROUND 5 DOLLARS AT WAL-MART.

I always take a large suitcase, a sizeable carry-on bag and inside I take a smaller bag and foldable cooler to use for carrying towels, beach gear and items that I purchase when I wander about through town. Definitely take good walking shoes or tennis shoes, a cap or hat for the sun and in central Mexico during the summer, a rainjacket or umbrella. Also at elevations in central Mexico temperatures can be cool so a good light but warm jacket or sweatshirt is necessary. Pepto-Bismol tablets are a great preventative for 'turista'. Over the years I have only gotten sick once in Mexico and find that the chewable tablets or capsules (about 4 a day) do the trick to prevent any onslaught. Take some sort of footwear for the hot sand at Ixtapa. I like to have a bottle of purified water with me. This can be brought down or purchased while there. It takes away thirst and does not require you to...

When I was there in October, the weather was not to bad. I wore shorts and a t-shirt. I believe it was about 70 degrees. The ship was cold at night. I recommed if you are cruising in the fall/winter to bring warm clothes. I do recommed if you do cruise go in the spring/summer. Jeans, shorts, jacket, warm shirts, and short sleeved shirts Make sure you have an extra battery for your camera and don't forget to charge your video camera if you bring one.

Bring only light clothes coz most of the country is in eternal summer although, in Mexico City nights can be chily since the city itself lies at some 2000 meters above sea! Pacific areas are very humid and you may sweat there more then else. The best way to handle this is to hit the sea water at once! No special needed, their drugstores are well supplied, adjusted to the tourists needs. They would even help your sun burns and give you stuff to quickly recover after being too long exposed to the sun. If you taking your video camera make sure you find a power adapter coz not only the voltage but the shape of the plug is different. The best is you find a universal voltage adapter you can adjust to fit your equipment, the shape of the plug is the same as in US, square sockets. You can get this on any internationl airport tourist shop. Some anti mosquito cream or liqiuid is highly...

Moutaineering style backpacks that are light weight and provide good support. Bring a good pair of walking shoes and hiking boots. You can find anything you need in the major Mexican cities. Canon Eos 10s

Hard luggage due to the mismangement of luggage everywhere Cool light cotton clothing with a cardigan for night time as the wind can get strong and it cools down at night. Mosquito repellent Normal camera, digital camera, camcorder and I had no trouble recharging the batteries but it can take a long time so take some spares. Our hotel had topless bathing and the beaches are clean and sandy Don't forget your taxes to be paid going out for incoming and outgoing in pesos or dollars, no travellers cheques or credit cards. Take plenty of money as Mexico is very expensive to eat and buy and they do take credit cards
