Restaurante Cha Cha Cha

by madamx

Rick Davis, an American who has lived in Patzcuaro for 20 years, offers some dishes on his menu if you are particularly homesick for burgers, etc., but he also serves a large range of traditional Mexican fare. The restaurant is decorated in cheery colors, and though there are a couple of separate dining rooms, the airy central courtyard is a must.Service is quick and cheerful, with the waiters speaking fairly good English, if you need it. All the veggies here are purified, so if you have a hankering for a big salad, this is the place to have one. Stopping by for a light lunch, we went along with Rick's recommendation for a selection of green chorizo, chicken, and shrimp quesidillas. They were served with a very fresh salad of iceberg lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and sprouts, plus some salsas and chips. The green chorizo is nicely spiced and delicious. I don't usually go for iceberg lettuce,...

Cuates y Cuetes: Perfect for relaxing on the beach with a drink

by culturedesigns

Open front, right off the beach with a festive decor, though not tacky. The waiters were very kind and happy to see us, but not over powering or pushy. They have a whole nest of chairs and tables on the other side of the walkway right in the sand. There are umbrellas for those of us who burn. The only con I will mention, and is true of pretty much everywhere in Mexico is that you are constantly barraged by local vendors selling nonsense knick knacks. You usually only have to say no thank you once but there are just so many, your saying this every other minute. Otherwise I really liked this place. We got Pina Coladas which were very good, you got your moneys worth of alcohol thats for sure with chips and Guacamole. The Chips/Guac were over priced but good.

Planet Vegetarian: Fantastic Find

by mbowell

A small building on the side of the hill, Planet Vegetarian has the freshest local foods that you can find anywhere and you don't have to be vegetarian to completely enjoy the food. Everything is made in the extremely small kitchen which you can easily see. Everyday has different and varied dishes, salads, drinks and beverages which are all included in the very reasonable price. The guacamole and salsa were outstanding - but then we loved everything we ate each time we dined there.

Hotel Posada Maria Christina: Charming, Sensual, Relaxing, & great Food Too!

by wrldtrvlr3341

This hotel/spa/restaurant is hidden behind unimpressive walls a couple of blocks from El Centro..........untill you step inside. While I was only a restaurant guest, the hotel rooms are tucked away on the massive floral and garden covered grounds. One may dine inside with crisp white table linens, or under umbrella covered tables in the garden patio. The service is excellent, food presentation superb, and dining here is a sensual experience. While i originally went for drinks (huge Margaritas), I stayed for dinner. The seafood dishes with their special sauces were memorable.

La Mananitas- Cuernavaca, Mexico: Restaurant in A Park Setting

by wrldtrvlr3341

Behind a non descript gate is a treat for the senses and soul. Regardless of my description, I would not be able to do this superb restaurant justice. Just to sit in the atmosphere of a calm, serene floral garden with parrots and peacocks parading around is a delight for the senses. Add their tequila special, then dinner, and it is over the top, and I don't impress easily. There is a variety of dishes, including local Mexican cuisine. While it is more expensive than the average Mexican restaurant, it is not expensive by American standards. My tequila special and dinner was about $32.00 including tip. I had a seafood dish that was an exquisite presentation as well as delicious. The service and ambiance makes this a very special experience.

Eat in the street.

by cachaseiro

The best food in mexico is what you buy from the street vendors.tacos with lot's of chili and loads of other things. The quality is generally very high when you think that the people stand and cook it on the pavement. And it´s fresh and cooked right in front of your eyes.YUM YUM.
