 | | | | Superbowl Sunday- Football United States | | | | | |
It has been said that Super Bowl Sunday is the one American holiday that does not have religious meaning and can be celebrated by persons of all class, color, religion, and social status equally. I do not know if this is true, but Americans are crazy for their form of football. Superbowl Sunday is also documented as the date for highest incidents of domestic disputes. Superbowl Sunday occurs on the last Sunday in January. The teams are the top rated teams for that season, so the location and the opponents change every year. There are two organizations for professional football in the United States, the American Football League and the National Football League. The game is broadcast nationwide and people will hold superbowl parties and serve food and drinks and invite people over to watch the all afternoon an evening event. The food is generally extremely unhealthy, loaded with fat and oil and carbohydrates. People overeat and over drink and Superbowl Sunday is the highest rated holiday for domestic violence. Companies bid every year to be the sponsor and halfway through the game iss a break known as halftime. During the 3o minute program, performers perform and commericals are shown that companies have paid millions to be a part of. Many turn in just for the halftime show. I am not a follower of football, so this entry is more of a general commentary regarding the social entity of football, rather than the rules of play. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Most cultures have some version of a stick and ball game. Although historians cannot agree exactly when baseball began, most cite early 19th century and claim it has origins in the English game of rounders. In 1845, Alexander Cartwright wanted to formalize a list of rules by which all team could play. Much of that original code is still in place today. Although popular legend says that the game was invented by Abner Doubleday, baseball's true father was Cartwright. The first recorded baseball contest took place a year later, in 1846. Cartwright's Knickerbockers lost to the New York Baseball Club in a game at the Elysian Fields, in Hoboken, New Jersey. Cooperstown New York in the United States is where the Baseball Hall of Fame is located. The picture is a painting form Norman Rockwell-a very popular American painter that captures the idyllic view of Americana. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
