  • Walter George Dam

    In 1962, the Corp of Engineers completed this dam to serve water needs and recreation in the area. It has 640 miles of shoreline, and a peaceful looking lake backing up the Chattahoochee River

  • Historic Homes in Town

    There are about 700 homes in town that are all very well preserved over the years, given the majority were built 1840-1890 era. It takes a lot to upkeep and modernized to habitat to new conveniences; like central heat and air.

  • Downtown Structures

    There are a number of preserved buildings along the main street of N. Eufaula and Broad, all from 1850's through early 1900's. The corner old hotel is the stand out on the center of town; the Bluff City Inn of 1885 built by the Reeves, who controlled bank activity in town.

  • Fendall Hall

    This home was built in 1860 by Edward & Ann Young, and it remained in the family until around 1940's. The historic Society now owns it, and it is open for viewing Mon-Friday 10-4, but was closed to us on Memorial Day holiday. Admission is $5. It is said to have black & white marble hall squares, pine floors, and a great deal of furniture inside.

    located on n. eufaula ave. is the carnegie library. the steel magnate andrew carnegie donated sixty million dollars to build 2,811 libraries in the united states and europe. the carnegie library is one of a number of interesting historic buildings in eufaula.
