a bad picture of airport with little traffic by PA2AKgirl When you get there, you'll find I-65 from N-S and I-10 E-W. Getting into West Mobile, most people take Airport Blvd b/c it's the best way to get from one side to the other, or it seems that way. HOWEVER, it's congested, there are a lot of lights and the access road seems confusing at first. Drivers in Mobile do not use turn signals, they talk a lot on their cell phones, drive ridiculously huge vehicles and go right through red lights. Just be careful...if you can, take another route. Get a good map and avoid airport...take Government, Cottage Hill, Dauphin or Springhill--they all run the same way as Airport, at least for awhile. Continuing with this tip. DO NOT TAKE AIRPORT ON A WEEKEND NIGHT. Despite the fatalities that occur each weekend, it's a popular drag racing road. Why? I don't know. The traffic is very heavy all the time, there are lights at each intersection. The Sat. night we were there, we say accidents and idiots not paying attention to those destroyed cars but continuing to to use poor judgement. Cops know this happens and there were on the scene of the accident but ignoring the other cars Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

Free MODA trolley for downtown by DG4ever MODA is a free trolley service only for downtown. It's a great way to get an overview of downtown Mobile. It runs on M-F, and even Saturdays now! Look for the green umbrellas and benches to find a MODA stop. Round trip is only 20 minutes at the most. BAY CITY TOURS is another service that leaves from the Fort Conde(free) information center but it is not free. Highly recommend if you have the money. I think it is $10 or $15 dollars. Guided overview of historic districts downtown in a two hour tour.

by keeweechic You can take the two-hour narrated tour through the historic downtown area on Bay City Tour Trolley. Which departs every day from Ft. Conde. The tour goes via the Alabama State Docks and stops at one of Mobile's antebellum museum homes. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by keeweechic If you are travelling to or from the South you will no doubt go through the George Wallace Tunnel on Interstate 10. This will take you from the city to the Battleship Memorial Park or on the road to Pensacola. Its a pretty cool tunnel. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

Avoid Airport Blvd. down by the malls if you can. Always packed with traffic. Not only are the only two malls in Moible right across from each other here, the on and off ramps to the interstate were very poorly designed. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
