The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame

Founded in 1967, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame honors athletes from Alabama or those with a connection to the state. Exhibits and displays portray the careers of 233 champions, including such notable sports figures as Olympic gold medalist Jesse Owens, former Alabama Crimson Tide coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, the great boxer Joe Louis, football quarterback Joe Namath, basketball player Charles Barkley, and baseball legends Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.Over 4,000 pieces of memorabilia, such as vintage equipment, uniforms, trophies, medals, and photographs fill three floors of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Visitors can also experience interactve kiosks, a video theater, capsule biographies, life-size dioramas, and bronze busts.
