Creepy Crawly Kudzu by TropicGirl77 Kudzu is a fast growing vine that can grow as much as a foot a day! It covers everything in it's path, doing damage to trees and other plants by cutting off it's light supply. It was originally brought to our country for ornamental purposes, but later it was discovered that it had other benefits. It is hard to get rid of, but recently it's proven to have other uses such as herbals and basket weaving! Leave a Comment

by RhondaRuth there is definitely justifiable cause to take cover or appropriate action. Emergency Warning Sirens An emergency warning siren is provided in the communities to help notify residents when weather or national emergency situations occur. The sirens are tested the first Monday of every month at 10 A.M. Learn the signals so you will know how to respond. Tornado: Uninterrupted blast with a gradual rise and fall in sound as speaker turns 360 degrees. Short break before each series begins anew. Total duration of cycle is approximately three minutes. Flood: Rapid alternating high and low tone (short and rapid, similar to fire drill alarm in school). Total cycle time from high to low and back to high is approximately one second. Total duration of cycle is three minutes. National Emergency: Rapid rise and fall wailing tone (similar to old air raid sirens). Total cycle time from high to low and back to high is approximately three seconds. Siren will continue until canceled by National Defense. Leave a Comment

'Come to Jesus or rot in hell' - I read this line on a roadside billboard in Alabama. Beside the letters some Christian fanatics also painted a devil. I donīt understand those people. Donīt we have the freedom of religion? Why do they try to influence others? Everybody should have its own faith. And it really doesnīt matter whether that is Christian, Muslim, Buddhism, Hinduism or anything else. Believe in the good things - thatīs what it is all about. Leave a Comment

It's known that Alabama is one of the most 'right-extremists' state of the US...the KKK (Klu Klux Klan) is still existing over there. THAT IS A REAL SHAME !!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's hope that the Alabama people will once get rid of those bastard racists. Leave a Comment

Birmingham is a dangerous place at night especially downtown Birmingham.

Downtown Birmingham, despite its reputation is NOT dangerous -- not even at night. The crime rate Downtown is comparable to that in the posh suburbs of Vestavia Hills. In addition, if you feel even slightly uneasy, or need any kind of assistance, all you have to do is call CAP and they will have someone at yoiur side within a minute or two: they patrol downtown on bicycles and vehicles weeknights and Saturdays until 11:00 pm. The primary crime Downtown is car break-ins; the primary crime in Vestavia is home break-ins. Leave a Comment

by blurryguy POLLEN!!! pollen is really bad during the pollen season...I like to think of pollen as the Alabama spring time snow. If your allergic to pollen then the early spring time is not the time to visit. Leave a Comment
