A Tour of the Island is a must lots to see, very beautiful. Lot's of WWII military history.
Fondest memory: The beautiful mountains and the ocean are a must see.
Hanging out with my co-workers Del Hendricks and Tom Haag is an adventure where ever we may be and always lots of fun! Standing above Zeto Point where gun emplacements once stood was an awesome feeling of what it must have been like to be stationed in Adak during WWII. Much respect to all who have served.
Fondest memory: When I was in the Navy I was stationed in Adak for a year. I loved it there, as I was serving my time on the USS YTB-818 (Harbor Tugboat). We traveled around the Island doing some search and rescue work. The Island was very cool but back then it was strictly a Naval Base but I hear they turned it over to the civilians. If anybody knows the details please let me know.
