The water of Cook Inlet was still frozen near the shore in late April. Guess the folks that own these boats weren't planning on going out for a while, anyway!

OK, this is not so much an Anchorage tip, unless you are entered in the Iditerod, but Alaskans do occationally travel by dog sled.

This fall, a train terminal was built at Ted Stevens International Airport (ANC). You can take this train using the Alaska railroad system starting spring of 2003.

Era flight arriving from Kodiak!

Once you get in Alaska, you might take Era Aviation to travel around the state. They don't operate any jets, but their prices are very reasonable!
