Difficult to get there

The whole town

The only public transportation to Atka is a twice weekly flight from Dutch Harbor. They fly a four-seater Navaho or, if the number of passengers warrants it and the plane is available, a 16-seater Metro. Like most Alaskan bush communities, each plane is met by a herd of four wheelers. The only other way to get there is by your own boat.
