There are only two ways to get to Cordova - Fly or Float! From Anchorage it is a 45 minute flight, or you can drive to Valdez (about 6 hours) and then hop on the ferry (about 5 hours) and you will end up in Cordova. Cordova has one major airport where the commercial flights come in (CDV - Mile 13, Mudhole Smith Airport), and a smaller airport that has small planes land either on Eyak Lake or they block off the road and they land there.
Cordova is a very small town and you can walk or ride a bike almost anywhere, however most people do drive cars.
