Let's assume you were sane before coming here. The warning signs of going bushy:
1) Hygeine becomes optional 2) Alcohol is a food group 3) You spend more than 1 hour per day looking at a calendar and planning a trip 4) Your wardrobe is 100% Carhart 5) A visit Fairbanks is a big treat. 6) You shave once a year whether you need to or not

On Nov. 3, 2002 a magnitude 7.9 earthquake hit the Alaska interior. We felt the quake here in the Delta Junction area - no real damage to speak of, but remember that this is earthquake country (posting this on 12/14/02 after another mild 4.3 quake) Attached graphic shows the fault lines around here. Personal observation from the 7.9 quake - Get dressed before you run outside! Keep your coat and hat handy in case you have to make a rapid exit!

At 40 below you need to think ahead.
-Don't travel alone - take along a buddy that can help dig you out of a snow drift.
-Leave with a full tank of fuel

Don't go hiking or driving around on the military property - watch for the big red flags. If you go past a red flag you might get hit by shells or bombs
