There are a *lot* of good restaurants up yonder, but I'll settle for the Buffalo Center Diner in Delta Junction -- about 100 miles south of Fairbanks at the junction of the Alaska and Richardson Highways.
Uh, well, buffalo as a menu item...
They serve buffalo burgers, and to me the only thing better than buffalo is moose. But no restaurants serve moose, that I ever discovered. Not only do they roast wonderful coffee, but also have some great bakers on staff.
If you arrive about noon, they'll have fresh wood fired pizzas. Muffins, cookies and classic cakes also available.
Yergecheffe, an Ethiopian wild coffee bean is the biggest seller.

Bobby's is a Greek theme restaurant in downtown Fairbanks. The food is the best in town and the menu offers fine dining in comfortable but classy place with an excellent staff.
My very favorite meal at Bobby's is the grilled swordfish, but I have never had anything that I didn't absolutely rave about! Pasta Bella has a very authentic Italian ristorante feel to it, even though it's just short of the Arctic Circle. The atmosphere is cosy but not crowded, the lighting subtle. The smell of their fresh baked bread fills the dining areas with it's aroma that will make you hungry, even while you are eating.
If you like Italian food, you are safe to order anything from the menu. If you don't like Italian food, you will by the time you leave this restaurant!
One of the house specialtiest is 'The Mother of All Lasagnes'. This plate-full 4' thick stack of noodles, sauce and vegetables is beyond compare. If you order it, plan on skipping dessert! This is a good local bar. There is a friendly local crowd that makes you feel right at home. The bar and restaurant staff are great, they have lots of good beers on tap, many of which are local microbrews. The food is some of the best in town. A big menu that has everything from wonderful salads and soup of the day to blackened halibut sandwiches to prime rib.
If I had to pick one thing on the menu I'd have to take the prime rib, but I have a favorite for every meal! For breakfast its the eggs benedict with a bloody mary, for lunch its the blackened halibut sandwich with the soup of the day and a glass of Fairbanks Lager. A small place where the locals like to go.
reasonable prices for tasty food.
Excellent service as well.
If you are walking around downtown, this is a great place for lunch.
