    A warm rustic interior, the pumphouse was the only decent restaurant I found open in Fairbanks during labor day.

    The seafood is fresh, the oysters flown in from the North Arctic shores, an incredibly large Alaskan King crab. Everything was excellent. Although relatively expensive, the service, comfort, and charm of this restaurant is well worth it.

    You'll leave the pumphouse comfortably stuffed and happy in the cold Alaskan night.

    The Turtle Club is actually up in Fox about nine miles north of Fairbanks. It is a prime rib house with a very good bar. They also sell halibut , shrimp and lobster and have the best salad bar I have ever seen. Its worth it to go there just for the salad bar. You have to get your wallet out when you eat at the Turtle Club, but you get your money's worth. You always go home with a couple of meals worth of GOOD food.

    I love the prime rib. It comes in several sizes. One for every appetite.
