There are a *lot* of good restaurants up yonder, but I'll settle for the Buffalo Center Diner in Delta Junction -- about 100 miles south of Fairbanks at the junction of the Alaska and Richardson Highways.
Uh, well, buffalo as a menu item...
Favorite Dish: They serve buffalo burgers, and to me the only thing better than buffalo is moose. But no restaurants serve moose, that I ever discovered.

Fairbanks has a lot more than I had originally expected when I first arrived. They have the usual chain restaurants such as McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Popeyes, Sobiks, Denny's, etc. But they have awesome restaurants like 'The Turtle Club', 'The Castle', 'The Pumphouse' which Fairbanks is famous for, and many others. One of my favorites is 'The Food Factory'.
Like many of the hometown restaurants the atmosphere is laid back and casual. Almost all of the staff offer great service with a smile and a warm welcome.
Favorite Dish: Steak and Cheese Sub. A Bucket of beer and french fries on the side. Mmmmm Mmmmmm Goooooood!!!!

Sam's Sourdough Cafe. Best breakfast anywhere. Good coffee and your cup never gets to half before its full again.
The same waitresses have been here for years. They aren't afraid to talk about it either.
Favorite Dish: Reindeer and eggs.

Address: On University by the railroad crossing.
Pasta Bella has a very authentic Italian ristorante feel to it, even though it's just short of the Arctic Circle. The atmosphere is cosy but not crowded, the lighting subtle. The smell of their fresh baked bread fills the dining areas with it's aroma that will make you hungry, even while you are eating.
Favorite Dish: If you like Italian food, you are safe to order anything from the menu. If you don't like Italian food, you will by the time you leave this restaurant!
One of the house specialtiest is 'The Mother of All Lasagnes'. This plate-full 4' thick stack of noodles, sauce and vegetables is beyond compare. If you order it, plan on skipping dessert!

This is a National Historic Site. It was built in 1931 and 1933 by the Fairbanks Exploration Co. to pump water from the Chena River to dredging operations at Cripple Creek. The pump house was remodeled in 1978 and is now a restaurant and saloon. This restaurant was my fondest memory of Fairbanks. Really good food! YUMMY!
Favorite Dish: Salmon, among others. Everything here is delicious!

Address: Mile 1.3 on Chena Pump Road in Fairbanks.
Have a stopover at the Malemute Saloon baby! Woohoo! Peanuts on the ground, and live acts on the stage. Check out the pictures. It's right next door to the Cripple Creek Resort.
It's wacked, but a funny place to eat.
Favorite Dish: Good ol' peanuts.

After you go through the line to pick up condiments, cole slaw, jello, and baked beans, you must decide which entree to have. Nevermind deciding, have a little of each. You can always go back for seconds.
Then take your food and find a seat under the spruce trees or go inside if you're chilly.
The Salmon Bake supplies bus service to many of the local lodgings.
Favorite Dish: All you can eat:
Outdoor-grilled salmon
Barbeque ribs
Batter-fried halibut
Baked Beans
Or order a custom cooked
T-Bone steak grilled over a fresh fire
Dessert is
Blueberry shortcake
