The historic Old Iditarod Trail, used in the 1900s, crosses through through the Crow Creek Trail to the Crow Creek Mine. The trail extends to the Chugagh visitors center
Alyeska has some great trail swhich begin just outside the resort and are open to the public. This one consisted of several miles to Winner Creek. The trail is 3 miles round trip and heads through rainforest to Winner Creek. The trail crosses Glacier Creek via a hand powered tram.
I needed a place for this photo, and even though this place is in town, most travellers would not stop there, unless they had to. I am talking about the Girdwood Clinic. This photo is of the Christmas Lizard who greets you on the reception desk in the clinic.
He may not be around in the summer time. As many Christmas lizards fly south for the warmer months.
